Daily Telegraph. Summer Strallen, from Channel 4's hit soap Hollyoaks, stars as Maria in THE SOUND OF MUSIC at the London Palladium. In reality, Summer is no stranger to the West End stage, having been a leading lady in The Drowsy Chaperone, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, The Boyfriend and Guys and Dolls.
Simon MacCorkindale joins her as Captain Von Trapp. Best known for his starring role as Harry Harper in three series of the hugely popular and successful Casualty on television, his other television credits include Obsessive Love, Falcon's Gold, Quatermass, Jesus of Nazareth, Gemini and Dynasty.
The score for THE SOUND OF MUSIC touches the hearts of all ages and brims over with some of the most memorable songs ever performed on the musical stage including My Favourite Things, Do-Re-Mi, Edelweiss, Climb Ev'ry Mountain, Sixteen Going on Seventeen, The Lonely Goatherd and of course the glorious title song The Sound of Music.
Please note: Summer Strallen will not perfrom Monday evenings or Wednesday matinees. Summer Strallen will be on holiday 6th October to 13th October inclusive and will not perform during any of these dates. she is also on holiday 22nd to 24th January 2009. During the December holiday period she will not perform at the following performances: 22nd, 23rd, 26th December matinees, 1st January matinee and 29th December evening.
